thought i'd post and see if anyone else sufferers with these, i'm talking mild electric shocks here by the way.

as many of you know i am in a wheelchair for distance, when we go out to any big department stores, John Lewis, etc. my hubby get's a shock when touching anything .. and it doesn't have to be something on a metal display stand even.

we were in Costco ( staff told me that's bad for everyone in there ) it's a metal building with glass roof .. but i've not noticed it before this week for myself .. we were really loaded up, we have a huge Costco bag on the back of the wheelchair, i normally have a couple of heavy items on my lap, we've been using them for all things garden. also use it for a lot of our fruit, it's a weird shop but handy for all sorts.

welll i had a huge melon plonked on my lap as you do .. lol, half passed it to the chap who helps unload trolleys etc. next thing we both frazzled straight through his fingers to mine, when we had a cuppa in John Lewis hubby googled said problem on his phone and it seems it can cause problems if you are pushing prams, buggies and obviously that would include wheelchairs.

hubby has always been prone to this happening but i haven't. got at least 3 shocks in John Lewis.

google said to touch your keys or similar, and the staff in Costco said they have a wire they can hold as they are used to it.

no particular reason for posting just wondered if anyone else suffers like this,

if my hubby get's hit once each shock get's worse through the shop.

gotta laugh really but as i say my finger tingled for a couple of minutes this week .. lol

Suzanne

Different materials coming into contact and then separating would cause the build up. Friction of movement would only make it worse

Suzanne - does it give you curly hair?
I would really like that.

It could be true what they are all saying about the issue - or it might be that you
two are just really hot and sparks fly between the two of youRollEyes

I can get a shock when I open the car door, so I psych myself up for that!
